Solstice Arts Centre is delighted to present SURVEYOR 2018, the seventh annual open submission exhibition of works in all disciplines by artists currently living in or originally from County Meath.
SURVEYOR serves to support, value and encourage Meath artists in the development of their practices and creative careers by providing them with the opportunity to show new and recent work. The exhibition, curated by a different invited external curator each year, presents an overview of contemporary visual arts practice throughout the county and serves as a celebration of its diversity.

Tea with Ledwidge (Triptych)
This triptych inspired by the Meath born First World War poet Francis Ledwidge. 2017 was the centenary of his death. In particular a poem of his written after the loss of his sweetheart.
'To One Dead'
A blackbird singing
On a moss-upholstered stone,
Bluebells swinging,
Shadows wildly blown,
A song in the wood,
A ship on the sea.
The song was for you
and the ship was for me.
A blackbird singing
I hear in my troubled mind,
Bluebells swinging,
I see in a distant wind.
But sorrow and silence,
Are the wood's threnody,
The silence for you
and the sorrow for me.
by Francis Ledwidge
