Delighted to be supporting the talented Artist Marie Brett with this event. Last Breath - A filmic artwork by Marie Brett THU 18 OCT 2018 7.30PM Draíocht Studio // FREE
"Last Breath is a short film exploring ideas of an ultimate great unknown: the experience of death and dying. Inspired by Epic poetry, Irish folklore and time spent with palliative care staff, the artwork draws viewers into a multi-layered narrative, where time slows and metaphysical landscapes unfold. Artist Marie Brett produced the work following a residency at UCD’s College of Social Science and Law and a participatory project with staff at St Francis Hospice Dublin. The work was supported by IMMA and UCD Parity Studios and received an Arts Council AIC award, coordinated by Create the national development agency for collaborative arts in Ireland. Following the film, audience members will be invited to join in discussion about the work with special guests Dr. Regina McQuillan, Medical Director at St Francis Hospice Dublin and Helen O'Donoghue, Senior Curator at IMMA, together with Consultant Penny Monaghan and Artist Marie Brett. An Irish film premiere, this event is free and all are welcome. For tickets follow this link'
